Signed with Honor: Why Our BBQ Truck is a Rolling Thank-You Note
At its heart, BBQ is about family, community, and the simple joy of sharing a meal around a fire. But if you’ve stopped by our truck lately, you might have noticed that our trailer carries more than just the scent of hickory smoke. It carries a living history.
On every side of the rig, you’ll find signatures, dates and where people served in permanent marker. These aren’t just doodles—they are the names of men and women who have served, those currently in active duty, and the families who keep the legacies of their fallen heroes alive.
A Moving Tribute
What started as a small gesture has turned into a “moving tribute.” We invite veterans, active-duty service members from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Space Force, Coast Guard, and Gold Star families to pick up a marker and leave their mark on our truck.
For us, this trailer is a rolling thank-you note. Every mile we drive and every event we serve is a reminder of the sacrifices made to ensure we have the freedom to gather, eat, and celebrate with our loved ones. Seeing those names every morning when we prep the smokers keeps us grounded and grateful.
Tradition at the Veterans Day Car Show
One of our favorite days of the year is the annual Veterans Day Car Show. There’s something special about the roar of vintage engines paired with the smell of slow-roasted brisket.
Every year, we set up our truck not just to serve food, but to stand in solidarity with the community. It’s a day for:
- Honoring Legacies: Meeting Gold Star families and hearing the stories behind the names on our trailer.
- Connecting Generations: Watching retired veterans swap stories with young active-duty members over a plate of ribs.
- Community Support: Giving back to the people who give the most.
Join the Family
Whether you are a neighbor looking for a great meal or a service member passing through, you are part of our family. The next time you see us parked at the car show or around town, come say hello.
If you or a loved one have served, please come grab a marker. We would be honored to carry your name with us on the road.
From our family to yours—thank you for your service, and God bless America!
